Comments: What I felt as a pronnation runner(+200km). It is light and flexible, but the shoe is wide and not high, the rolling is nice, so helps me to step neutral. The cushion is not soft but bouncy. Too much cushioning is unstable and shaking, but this shoe absorbs the damage well. The bouncing and response is so so. light and comfortable for fast run.

Comments: My son runs XC in High School. These shoes are his go-to shoes to train. He is always a "Brooks" runner and has tried many of them for variety. This is his 3rd pair of the exact same shoe. He loves all "Brooks" but these are his favorite. They feel great for a faster threshold run but also give you the support that is needed for recovery. My son runs an average of 40+ miles weekly during XC season, he has a narrow foot, and has an average race pace of 6.16 per mile. He ran a half marathon in these shoes and felt great....(for just running a half marathon!! hahaha)

Comments: Disclaimer - Only have about 35 miles logged on these so far. 41yr - male - 170lb - typically 40-50mpw - these shoes used for road runs. I am loving these shoes. I had not been a huge Brooks fan but this model is right up my alley. Very light upper, I love the 'flat' laces, the foam feels very responsive, and my foot feels very secure in the shoe. They fit, so far, great, fits true to size in my opinion. These shoes, for me, have been great for progression runs. I would highly recommend these!

Comments: This shoe is a very good shoe with one major shortcoming. If Brooks really wants to move this shoe into the group of great shoes. Please widen the midsole. The shoe functions really well, but the midsole heel area feels like it is too narrow. Widen this shoe in the midsole. The shoe is light enough that widening it will hardly affect the weight. Heel-to-toe transition works very well.

Comments: Excellent shoe. Super comfortable upper with plenty of foot splay in the toebox, nice midsole that doesn't feel too soft or firm. I had an issue with one insole sliding around on a hot sweaty day that I had to glue down. Pretty durable for me as I chew up shoes like a puppy.

67yo, M former age-group racer and runner for 50+ years.  Now just putting the miles(~50 mi/wk)

Own a pile of shoes and use 5-6 different shoes weekly. Have 2 pairs of this shoe and it is one of my favorites.
Currently over 300mi on the first pair. Thoroughly enjoy these on all surfaces including trails. Mostly run on dirt due to my age including flat and climb/rocky trails.  These excel on everything and I use them as Time Trial shoes(virtual races). I can still use these for flat trail runs but am getting toward the end of their life for Hilly workouts. I own a new pair and can't wait to get that new shoe feeling again.  Recommended for anyone who likes a very responsive, neutral shoe with good shock absorption.

I use the Hyperion Tempo as my main daily trainer and it's my favorite shoe ever for that purpose. The midsole is a good middle ground not too firm, not too soft. I feel stable and in control with this shoe, and it doesn't force me to run any certain way (unlike the Endorphin Speed). I can just run and forget about my shoes. But, for me, the most important quality of this shoe is the fit of the upper's perfect. I can tie the laces loose enough that I don't even have to untie them to take the shoes on and off, but I still have zero heel slippage or rubbing anywhere. I love it.

Went from Bedlam 2 to these....not a wise option!  I decided to try these since I run trails with Altras.  Anyways...super light shoe, but not the best for me (running wise).  But man they look SWEEEET!!!

: I liked these at first. But I found myself missing a plastic midfoot shank or torsion system. The shoe bends in the middle. This was very noticeable during faster strides and when doing longer runs. When my foot started to hurt only in these after about 30 total miles I retired them. Nobody else seems to have mentioned this so could be they just don't work for me.

Try it on first if you can. It is running a little larger or should I say longer. This is the only shoe in the last 20 or 30 years that feels a bit large in my usual 10 1/2 size. But you know what ,I liked it so much that I kept it. It is super comfy and all around a fantastic shoe!

The midsole runs similar to the hyperburst of the SKechers Razor 3.  The Hyperion Tempo has a more comfortable upper and more durable outsole.  I have 80 miles on them an the outsole looks brand new.  Used them on roads, the track and well groomed trail with no issues.  True to size.   Will definitely buy it again.

Comfortable right out of the box. A nice neutral light-weight everyday trainer. Was wearing the NB Beacons but decided to change up to this shoe. Happy with the switch. Comparable sizes for the two shoes. Doing about 50 miles per week at a little over 7 minute pace. Would use this shoe as a racer for anything from 5k to Marathon.

Had watched reviews saying these were soft underfoot and responsive but I found them too firm ( I do not like squishy either but found these the other end of the scale)I have ended up using my endorphin speeds for tempo and long ( with interval) runs , a bit higher stack but it still feels conventional.Have the Skechers Razor+ which I prefer if you want a mid stack alternative to Hyperion and preferred it is spring and under foot feel. But as above I am finding the Endorphin Speed is the shoe I reach for and then use an alternative for Easy longer miles ( in my case that is NB1080)

Sizing is accurate and shoes fit well. I feel that there is good energy, just wish there was a little more cushion. The shoe strings are extremely long and I may actually replace although I like that they are stretching and conforming. Overall a good shoe and could see myself buying them again.

I added these to the quiver a while ago, and have found more and more that they are my go-to shoe. They are very light weight for the level of cushion/protection they provide, and as they've broken in a bit the upper just fits like a glove - snug everywhere without being tight anywhere. This is a hard combination for me to find as I have feet that are farily wide at the front but with high-ish arches and a narrow-ish heel. I like the feel so much that I've been pushing the limits of their traction and stability by using them for trail runs. They're not ideal for this, but that's not a knock on them - this is clearly designed as a road-only shoe.

A near-perfect shoe, as compared to the Hoka Rincon, Altra Escalanta 2, NB Beacon v2, Nike Infinity Run, and Saucony Ride 13. Yes.... I tried them all. Loved the Beacon for its medium cushioning and upper fit, but I prefer the Hyperions for their responsiveness. It's difficult to go slow in the Hyperions. The foam feels like it's the same throughout the run, and the outside rubber is the perfect thickness that contributes to the firmness and longevity of the shoe (compared to Rincon, Beacon). The upper could use a tad more flexibility in the fabric.

My favorite shoes to date!! Long course triathlete, 146 lbs, 37, running in the 6-7:30/mi during my workout for the main-set. I use this shoe for tempo and threshold, and recently race day. I would compare the ride to the Hoka Rincon, but with a much much much better toe box. I replaced my Peg Turbo 2 with these. I would say the ride is definitely firmer than the Turbo 2, but the trade off comes with a much more stable platform. My biggest complaint is the short tongue, would like it to be a cm longer, if you use a runners loop to tie down the heel the laces are sitting on your sock at the end of the run.

Not as cushioned as some advertise. Beware that these are soft and responsive at tempo paces. These are not foe LSRs. Great for tempo repeats or a fast mid run. Love the design, breathable upper, stretchy laces, and responsive midsole. Hoping the outer sole lasts 400+ miles. I definitely recommend these over other brands. I run in LSR in ASICS and race in Nike. I recommend you buy for the features of the shoe, not the brand. Great specs from the Running Warehouse website.

I am63, around 6 ft and just under 170 lbs, Did okay in a pair of Adrenaline GTS a coupe of years ago. Have 100 miles on these and am pleased so far. Not plush and cushy feeling like some shoes, but not as stiff and hard as I thought they might be. I run around 30 miles a week and have been using these as everyday trainers. I can not say that there is anything magical about them, but to date I have found them a good shoe for me. So far they seem to be wearing very well, a pleasant change from the HOKA Clifton I tried recently. The upper locks my foot in well, and the toe box Is wider and more comfortable than the HOKA which gave me a couple of purple toes.

I initially liked this shoe; the fit is spot on in my regular size, the upper is simple and doesn't have any hotspots or weird overlays, and it's light. However, after a few runs, the cushion just felt "dead" for lack of a better word. Absolutely no rebound - I felt like I was running on several pieces of stacked cardboard or something. Definitely not a pleasant sensation. Also, the laces are super weird. They are so stretchy as to be almost unusable - very hard to get a good lockdown in these. They had to go back - major credit to Running Warehouse for letting me try them and send them back for store credit. I won't buy running shoes from anywhere else!

I do not ave luck w/ super-cushioned shoes. I have been weened on old-school trainers - from the 70s-80s. Knee, calf, fasciitis, piriformis problems happen w/ too-soft shoes. So why did I try these? Cause I am careless and I had the $. Anyway, what a perfect shoe for me. Beautifully light, breathable upper, w/ a perfectly cushioned but firmer ride. I tried them on an indoor treadmill for 4 miles, then finally took them on the roads. Very impressed with the non-squishy, non-injury-inducing ride. Seemed quite stable, especially in the forefoot. My 2nd Brooks shoe ever; the first being the T3 from way back when. At ~127 lbs. and 5ft 6in I am a lightweight- heavier runners will certainly have different reactions.

I was recommended these as a replacement for the Pegasus Turbo 2. The Hyperion Tempos are definitely more firm than the ZoomX/React of the Turbos, but still have a nice bounce to them from the DNA Flash Midsole. The upper is extremely comfortable and breathable on hot days. The shoe overall "feels" like it's built to run fast, which is both a positive and a negative. Running tempo, intervals, or even just general aerobic days are great in this shoe. The fit, the midsole, and the overall ride are great. For me, they became little uncomfortable on longer runs (longest I've taken them is 15 miles) and easy days. I found I could do everything in the Turbos, but the Hyperion Tempos were just a little too firm for me in these two cases. I'll definitely be keeping the Tempos in my shoe rotation, but will probably reach for something else on easy days or if I'm going 15+

This is my first pair of Brooks shoes, and they are awesome! Pretty similar in feel to Hokas, maybe a little more firm. There's more room in the toe box than any of my Hoka's so that's a total win.

I have only about 20mi on them so my 1st impression not necessarily where we will end up..they do fit very well and have good breathability..they aren't as soft as I hoped, but others say they get softer after broken in..if they soften up some I will be satisfied..I can say that they are better than any nike other than the next% and epic react

I really have been loving the Brooks Hyperion Tempo and have 400 miles on my pairs with most of my miles coming on dirt roads. I'm currently on my third pair of them as I was able to get them at the initial February launch. Does not seem to get a ton of press but they are incredible for me. I use them for every type of run from daily training to track intervals and even a 5k time trial where I ran a PR. I run about 50-60 miles a week. They tested them against the Pegasus Turbo and for me I prefer them as they have 2mm more cushion in the front and same at the back with the same weight and a wider midfoot. Also a little firmer the Turbo which I prefer. Great rubber and lots of durability also look great IMO. The stability that these provide for its weight class is top notch and I like the firmer ride as my ankles feel much more in control. With this shoe I feel like I am in control unlike some of the higher stack soft trainers out now like the FuelCell TC or Endorphin Speed.

This is an awesome shoe! 66 year old multiple IM & ultra runner.
First impression was not so great, but as I began to get some miles on this shoe, it is my go to for tempo, to long & slow pace.
I feel it is pretty true to size. IF COVID does not shut down IM St. George, this will be my race day shoe.

The only negative thing I can say about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo is the color. I know they are running shoes but am not in love with the Ice Blue. However, the shoes fit great and are a pleasure to run in. I am 200 miles into them and I wish I would have found them sooner. I love them so much I would wear them everywhere if they were not Ice Blue.

Brooks crushed me by discontinuing the Pure Cadence, but all is forgiven...I might like the Hyperion Tempo even more. I have put about 100 miles in them, and am finding it hard to reach for any other shoe in my rotation. When I first put them on, I was surprised by how firm they felt...but once I started running in them, they felt great. Responsive and comfortable. I do wish wish the drop were 4-6mm instead of 8mm...and I don't love the stretchy laces. Other than that, I have no complaints -- my favorite running shoe since the Cadence.

The first pair of Brooks I ran in was the Brooks Vantage circa 1979 or so. Most of the shoes I've been running in the past 5 years have been Hoka Clifton and Speedgoat, with a couple pair of Nike Zoom Fly and Vapor Fly flyknit. I've also run in the first three versions of the Brooks Launch. The Hyperion fits similar to these in terms of size but is slightly wider in the forefoot. After a couple runs I don't notice the wider forefoot. Upper is very comfortable - not plush so good for warm weather. The midsole is firm but comfortable - definite faster feel than any Clifton (1,2,3,6) and on par with Zoom Fly (1,2) and VF. Much better traction than all of the previously mentioned road shoes, particularly in wet conditions (shoes shed water well). I've run everything from slow to moderate to track intervals to tempo and the Hyperion feels good at all. On tempo runs in particular the shoes feel light on the feet. The laces are stretchy and take a bit of getting use to but I was able to achieve a good lockdown and feel more stable than in the previously mentioned Nikes. I anticipate the Hyperion to last about twice as long as the ZF. I am a 1:30 half marathoner and plan to wear the Hyperion over the VF assuming one of these races is not another covid casualty. Size 10.5 men's weighs 7.7 oz. I'm 6'1" 176 lbs. Superior to ZF and far more fun to run in than Clifton.
I have both the Hyperion Tempo and the Endorphine Speed. The Tempo has better breathability and a more uniform feel in the midsole. Particularly on uphills the weight difference is noticeable in the Tempo's favor (roughly an ounce lighter). Tempo is slightly wider in forefoot. Speed a better lockdown. Both shoes run the same size as Clifton and ZF2. Tempo's laces are stretchy and a bit odd. Speed's laces are a bit short. I prefer the Tempo.

Great lightweight, roomy, bouncy racer/trainer.
If I could make a suggestion to Brooks it would be to lower the drop to 4-6mm (maybe add more cushioning to the forefoot?), and this would be an awesome racer.

I havebeen looking for the Goldilocks running sneaker for the past 6 months now. I have tried every highly rated sneaker that that has been reviewed, Saucony triumph 17, Skechers ride 8, new balance tc fuel cell, new balance 1080 v10, ASICS nova blast etc... you name it. The brooks Hyperion tempo blows all of those out of the water. Every run, from short to long, fast to slow, feels effortless. They do however really shine during tempo workouts, when you want to pick up the pace. The cushioning is a perfect blend of highly responsive and semi firm with enough stability to really propel you forward and keep your form and gait perfect. The traction is also superb, having run about 40 miles so far in mine, the bottoms looks almost brand new. Can not say enough about this shoe. Probably the best running sneaker I have ever owned.

Given the design and weight of the Hyperion Tempo, I expected it to be a great speed day shoe and I was not disappointed! What I wasn't anticipating was how well the upper fits. The old saying "it fits like a glove" is on point with this shoe. It's been a long time since I have had a shoe that fits this well. The midsole performs very well at faster paces (6-6:30) for me and it's bad at slower paces as well. The somewhat wider platform and outsole rubber pieces provide more stability than I was expecting. It can be an everyday shoe for some if you like lightweight, with just enough cushioning. Up to about 15 miles, this shoe is fantastic. It's a bit on the pricey side, but should hold up well given the construction, so I'm expecting 200+ miles of joy out of it. Highly recommended!

Cannot say enough good things about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo. Probably the best shoe I have ever run in when it comes to daily miles, though i suspect it can be a great race day shoe too. For me, it was love at first stride. Perfect fit, smooth ride, responsive cushioning. Makes running fun. Oh, and good looks too.

:Checks every box. I am always looking for the A-Z training and race shoe that works for a 6ft 2 in, 180 lb, 55 yr old guy with current fitness of 5k sub 20:00 & marathon sub 3:20. The Hyperion Tempo feels athletic & fits my narrow foot like a glove with a next-level upper. The magic is in the responsive foam that allowed for a seem less transition from 13 miles on Sunday near marathon pace to easy 5 mi on Monday to speed day repeats on Tuesday. Yes it is light but the frame and utsole rubber make me feel like I can run forever yet pick up to 5k pace at anytime. I have not run in Brooks since 2013 but this one is a winner.
