Assistant Buyer (Osborne Park, WA)

The Assistant Buyer supports the Buying Team with the creation, presentation and ongoing management of products across the company's websites.

A major focus of the role is ensuring new products are created accurately and efficiently, with high-quality product descriptions, images and information ready for customers when stock becomes available.

The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisation and the ability to manage a high volume of products across multiple brands and categories.

Key Responsibilities

Product Creation

  • Create new products and SKUs within the company's systems and websites.
  • Ensure product information including product names, colours, sizes, pricing, specifications and categories is accurate.
  • Work closely with Buyers to ensure new-season and new-release products are created prior to launch.
  • Maintain and update existing product information when required.
  • Check products are correctly categorised and presented on the website.
  • Assist Buyers with general product administration and range management.


  • Product Descriptions

  • Transfer existing product descriptions and technical information from the parent company websites/systems wherever available.
  • Ensure transferred descriptions are accurate, correctly formatted and appropriate for the Australian websites.
  • Check product specifications, technologies and key features for accuracy.
  • Write new product descriptions only when suitable descriptions are not available from the parent company.
  • When creating new descriptions, research the product and produce clear, accurate and customer-friendly content consistent with company standards.
  • Update or correct existing descriptions where required.
  • Work with Buyers to resolve missing or unclear product information.


  • Product Images

  • Source high-quality product images from suppliers and brands.
  • Upload and correctly assign images to individual products and colourways.
  • Ensure images meet company standards for quality, sizing and presentation.
  • Identify missing or incorrect images and follow up with suppliers or internal teams.
  • Coordinate additional product photography when supplier images are unavailable or insufficient.
  • Ensure products have complete imagery before going live wherever possible.


  • Buying Team Support

  • Assist Buyers with new product launches and seasonal range changes.
  • Liaise with brands and suppliers to obtain product information, imagery and other required assets.
  • Help maintain accurate product data across the business.
  • Identify and correct website product errors.
  • Assist with pricing updates, promotions and discontinued products when required.
  • Support the Buying Team with administrative tasks and special projects.


  • Key Skills & Attributes

    The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong written communication skills and the ability to work accurately while managing a large number of products and deadlines.

    They should be highly organised, comfortable working with online systems and spreadsheets, and able to work collaboratively with Buyers, Marketing and other departments.

    An interest in tennis, running, pickleball, padel or sporting products would be highly advantageous.
