Made with soft stretch fabric and welded seams, the Brooks Dare Scoopback Bra lies smooth against the skin for a fit that is just about invisible underneath your clothing. The nearly seamless design is combined with strategically placed ventilation for a chafe-free running experience even during your sweatiest workouts. The adjustable straps and wide range of sizes help to provide a custom fit, and the rear closure makes this bra a breeze to get on even for larger chest sizes. For high-impact support that doesn't feel restrictive, the built-in cups feature a moulded design that encapsulates each boob to hold you in while a hidden bottom band supplies extra support. With the Brooks Dare Scoopback Bra, you won't have to compromise comfort for support on your next run.

Overall Score: 9/10

"I’ve been a devoted fan of the old Brooks Fiona and Jubralee models which are both scoopback styles, so I was excited to try the new Dare Scoopback Bra. Racerback styles often sit too high on my shoulders and cause headaches, so an open-back design is a must for me. I was unsure whether this bra would be a good option for me when I tried it on since it initially felt somewhat restrictive, but once I set out on my run, my mind was changed immediately. This bra held everything in place such that I hardly noticed it, which is quite a feat for this D-cup gal. It was compressive enough to keep movement to a minimum while simultaneously being very comfortable. No back pain! While I’ll leave this bra in the drawer for yoga, it is definitely my go-to for running and other high-impact training. The quality and structure of the materials seem more durable than its competitors, so I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck with the Dare Scoopback even though the price point may be a bit higher."

Fit & Style

Score: 9/10

Liese: "I like a scoopback design because racerback straps sit too high on my shoulders, causing neck pain and headaches. I also like an open back design so I don’t have to wrestle it over my head and shoulders, which is always awkward with racerback styles for this D-cup size girl. When I’ve worn this bra while doing yoga or lounging about, it can feel a bit restrictive. However, while beginning to run, I immediately noticed that this bra was MEANT for running, such that I didn’t even notice it was there. I felt so supported while the extra motion was minimised. This is my favourite new run bra! I am looking forward to the fall line when we will get a full range of cup sizes and lots of colors."

Materials & Features

Score: 8/10

Liese: "The smoothness of this bra is remarkable. The construction is made up of an outer layer that incorporates welded seams, and the internal yoke is stitched in place. The moulded cups eliminate bunching or immodesty, and the minimal, seamless design provides a chafe-free experience even when fully saturated with sweat. Finally, I appreciated how the adjustability on the band and the straps helped me get a dialed-in fit."

Quality & Value

Score 8/10

Liese: "With its seamless construction, this bra is very sturdy. I’ve put it through the washing machine a few times with no visible wear although I did NOT put it in the dryer. For those of us who can’t get away with wearing a cute Nike strappy bra for $50, we’re accustomed to plunking down some serious change to keep our runs (and our backs) happy. So, the nearly $120 price point isn’t out of the range that I typically know I need to spend to get the support I need. Most other sports bras that I buy may have a slightly lower price than this, but this bra’s quality and support far outperform them."
