Overview

The Theragun PRO's percussive therapy uses rapid, repetitive strokes to stimulate blood flow and heat in tight, sore muscles. This high-quality personal massager offers 16mm stroke length with up to 60 pounds of force for effective deep-tissue muscle treatment. It's equipped with five speed options from 1750 or 2400 RPMs to enable the user to select between rapid percussion for large muscles or lighter treatment for sensitive areas with the help of six head attachments. The stroke arm also offers multiple adjustment angles for easy access to hard-to-reach body parts.

With an industrial-grade Japanese motor and proprietary sound insulation, the Theragun PRO guarantees no stalling and one of the quietest percussive massage experiences to date. The Theragun PRO provides all runners with the benefit of professional-quality massage therapy, anytime and anywhere.

Bottom Line

Our testers found the Theragun PRO to provide fantastic massages with an array of feature options. The quiet engine, extensive battery life and durable design helps the Theragun stand out from its competition. Our testers appreciated the six professional-grade attachment options which allowed them to target specific areas with refined percussion. The extra-long battery life and two interchangeable batteries gave our team up to five hours of massage before needing to recharge them. When using the Theragun PRO, our testers experienced faster recovery times and less post-workout soreness. If you're after access to a pro-level massage at the press of a button, then we highly recommend the Theragun PRO.

For a more budget-friendly option, the Theragun Elite ($648) features a similar massage in a more minimal package that offers a single rechargeable lithium-ion battery, slightly less force, and a fixed arm position.

Value

Overall Score: 8/10

Despite the higher higher price tag accompanying the Theragun PRO, our testers felt that it was still great value. When compared to similar products, the Theragun's effectiveness, durability, and ample accessories make this massager worth the premium price.

Justin: "For people with muscular issues or intense training that regularly require massage, I think the Theragun is a great value. Ultimately, it should be more cost-effective than continually going to get a massage."

Jonathan: "It's not cheap. However, I bought one after testing it and have used it almost daily for two months. I have a foam roller and massage stick that hardly ever got used. So on a per-use basis, the cost is coming down daily."

The Theragun PRO is an excellent massage gun option. I have a different brand that I purchased before this review and had been using for a couple of months. I found the Theragun to be comparable for the most part, but there are a couple of places where it truly excels beyond my current massage gun.

The first benefit is noise reduction; I found the Theragun to be pretty quiet. Second, I like that you only need to press a button to turn it on, rather than holding a trigger. Third, the various attachments were useful for getting a targeted massage. For me, I used the cone on my calf after using the ball-shaped version and felt a significant difference.

I got the Theragun PRO specifically for tight quads and I have seen significant improvement since using this product. I use the Theragun immediately before and after hard workouts, as well as almost daily in the evening for regular body treatment. My legs feel less tight and recover much more quickly. Also, I feel like a light use before a workout helps warm up my legs and reduces my soreness post-workout.
