Comments: I disappointingly found these narrow, so never ran in them. I wouldn't consider them 'medium' in width. Otherwise, they were light and flexible.

Comments: The upper is very cheap. I ripped one of the holes where the shoe laces go through. I have not run in the shoe that much yet. Probably less than 50 miles on them. I punched another hole, hoping to be able to get more out of them. Under foot, I like the shoe. Nice smooth ride. A little on the stiff side for me, but not too bad. Not as bad as the carbon plated shoes. I feel like it is a great shoe under foot. They just need to make the upper "better". This shoe makes a nice rotation with the NB fuel cell rebel v2. I am relying on both of those to take the place of the Pegasus Turbo v2

Comments: Have around 150 miles on them and the upper and midsole is holding up well so far. Surprisingly it doesn't feel like a 33mm stack height shoe, feels a little bit lower honestly. Pretty good for easy runs and for picking up the pace, however not that great for recovery runs, I prefer a more stiff shoe. Takes like ~30 miles to break in, and afterwards the best way to describe the ride is a more cushioned traditional racing flat.

Comments: Really good shoe. Lightweight, good ride, and the type of shoe that gets out of your way and just let's you run. I've used it on the track, tempo runs, and long runs up to 18 miles. It's a versatile shoe, can pick up the pace when asked, and has performed well on all my runs. The upper is thin and kinda cheap feeling, but I haven't had any issues with lockdown or hotspots. 92 miles and counting.

Comments: Wore these today for the first time, 9 miles out of the box, and they're some of the best shoes I've run in over the last 20+ years. Great cushioning, responsive, and forward progression propels you to a faster pace with no added effort. The only drawback is that I no longer want to run in the other six pairs of shoes in my rotation.

Comments: Lightweight and I wanted to like these but they are better for shorter distances (up to 8 miles at a time). I tried these on a 16 mile run and they lost a lot of rebound and gave me multiple blisters. I did initially do some 4-8 mile runs in them and liked them for those but wouldn't use them for any longer period. I did like the rocker feel to them and they literally don't weigh anything but I returned them since I couldn't use them for what I'm looking for right now. For reference, I have run a BQ and for my longer training runs have used NB 1080s and decided to try these to change things up. Well on to my now 3rd pair of 1080s. Running Warehouse guarantee is hard to beat.

Great shoe while it lasted. The eyelet tore from the laces.  I love these shoes for a variety of runs but the upper is poor quality. I have had similar problems with other skechers running shoe models using the same upper and similar eyelet design.

I'm a huge fan of the razor 3 and I was looking for the same shoe with a little more cush. Perfect for workout days and shorter runs. (12 and under). Overall great shoe for some daily miles and tempo days but wouldn't be close to what I would reach for on race day.

Skechers is having quality-control issues lately. The lateral outsole strips on these started peeling off after less than 30 miles. (I don't mean they started wearing down--I mean they started detaching.) I tried resecuring them with super glue a few times, but that didn't work for more than a run or two. So then the strips were just flapping around getting more detached, and I tore them off, meaning that I'm landing on exposed foam after less than 100 miles.

The Goodyear rubber doesn't do much to enhance durability if it doesn't stay on the friggin' shoe!

Skechers please do not change the Razor Excess!  OK.  I would not mind slightly longer laces but the fit is perfect for my slightly wider feet and ankles, that I do not need to use a runner's knot.  I discovered Skechers running shoes last year and I am a huge fan.  I have the Razor+, Excess, Ride 8 & 9, and Max Road 5.  The Razor Excess is my favorite in the Skechers line and is the shoe I grab the most (from all of my shoes) for daily training.  It is firmer underfoot than the Razor+ but it is still soft.  I find it to actually be snappier and faster than the Razor+.  People who enjoy the Hoka fit and softness will likely prefer the Razor+.  For runners like me who prefer a fast slightly firmer ride, the Razor Excess is perfect.  It is like a more modern version of the Saucony Kinvara 12, with better foam and a rocker.  The Saucony Speedroll is the best rocker that I have found but Skechers best rocker implementation is with the Razor Excess.  If I could only have one shoe, this

would be it.  Love it!

Great pair of shoes. Tweener type of shoe, for all types or runs. I love the look of the show minus the logo. Maybe put on the rear of the heel or the bottom of the shoe only.

These are the most comfortable race day shoes that I have worn.  Super light and has great cushioning.  I would race anything up to a half marathon in these.  Definitely a narrower shoe but not so narrow that they don't work for slightly wider feet.  As the name suggests they absolutely feel like the Razor with a little more cushioning.  I am a huge sketchers fan and these are an awesome addition.  Highly recommend!!

Pros: I used to run in the Pegasus Turbo 2 until it was discontinued. I liked how that shoe was soft, but still light and fast. This shoe has quickly replaced the Turbo 2 as my favorite shoe for faster runs. The Razor Excess is extremely light and has soft, forgiving cushioning, but the shoe still allows for quick turnover and easy, fast running. I find it very easy to hit my paces on workouts.

Cons: Toebox is a bit too roomy, so I can only wear this shoe with thicker socks. The upper also feels a bit like plastic and crinkles when you lace the shoe uptight.

I'm 70 miles in on my first pair of Razor Excess and I'm loving the versatility. I've used this shoe for very easy recovery runs, tempos/workouts, and long runs up to 14 miles. It felt great for all. I know this shoe shares the Razor name but I'm not going to try to compare to the Razor 3. They are different shoes with different purposes in my opinion. I plan to use the Excess more as a daily trainer. I'll second what other reviewers have said that the laces are too short for a proper heel lock but this hasn't been an issue as they are true to size and the upper keep my foot secure.

I really love the lightness and the thinness of the shoe. It is very breathable however I find the laces to be almost too short foA great shoe for any pace. I have several carbon plated shoes, but this is by far my favorite non plated shoe. I have used it for long runs and tempos. For me, it is fantastic for both.

The razor 3 are my go to race and training shoe on hard surfaces like sidewalks..they don't have the very best lockdown cos the uppers are flexible and I don't use them off road but I really love how durable and comfortable they are..the razor excess is more of what makes the razor so good..definitely can recommend them to anyone who cares about their feet and joints and who likes a very light, cushioned racing/training shoe with good traction and durability at a good price..on my 7th pr so far and will always have a couple prs around unless they change them too much.

: I really love the lightness and the thinness of the shoe. It is very breathable however I find the laces to be almost too short for a heel lock. I've been running in the razor 3 and razor 3+ and have loved those shoes so much it is hard for the Excess to compare. The extra padding is nice, but my feet have yet to break in the shoes 60 miles later which is disappointing to me because it makes me want to put the razor 3+ back on. The performance of the shoe is great though it is stable for me in a size 9 at 130 lbs running 6 flat paces for most runs. My hope is the shoe breaks in and the good year rubber holds up as the razor 3 for me always has the rubber burned up by 350 miles.

Comments:
I was really excited to try this shoe but sadly ended up returning it after the first run. After about 10 miles I could tell someone was off and ended up with an ugly blood blister on the ball of my left foot. I absolutely LOVED the Razor 3 but I think the added stability at the front of the toebox in the excess was just done poorly. The overlay is inside the shoe and the seams are very noticeable around the edge of the foot. Other than that issue that I personally had, the upper was really fantastic and just a little more Hyperburst is never a bad thing. Definitely worth a shot but be aware of the toebox issue potentially and maybe try on first and feel the seam if you can.
