This new addition to the Speed family brings great feel and easy targeting to the rising intermediate player

With the introduction of the Speed MP L 2024, Head puts the controllable power and great feel of the Speed MP into a lighter, faster package. At 10.5 ounces strung, this racquet gives improving intermediate players a user-friendly tool for honing their craft and rising to the next level. In addition to its spin-friendly 16x19 string pattern, the Speed MP L has a 60-RA beam stiffness, making it one of the most arm-friendly members of its class. It also packs a sub 320 swingweight, which makes it easy to maximize stroke speed when loading the ball with pace and spin. Notable technologies include Auxetic 2, a uniquely flexible material in the yolk and handle to optimize the racquet's feel and response. The Speed MP L also benefits from Graphene 360+ (labeled Graphene Inside), which strengthens the frame in key locations to provide a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Ultimately, with this light version of the Speed MP, Head gives rising intermediate players the perfect entry point into the controllable power and great feel of the Speed family. The arm-friendly comfort is a nice bonus.

Great speed racquetI bought this one for my 12 year old son, he was using the 2022 Head Speed Team prior to this, and his performance has improved since he started using the regular Head Speed racquets. Recommend for younger generation players.

Surprise findI had been playing with an older version of the Revelation and saw some reviews of the Speed MP and thought that this would be a good step up for me. I am older, 65, play men's doubles and can still move around the court. Unlike others my age, I picked up this level of tennis later in life so I am still improving while others are losing skills they used to have. Anyhow, I decided to demo both the MP and the MP L seeing a YouTube video where several racquets were reviewed and they said that the MP L surprised them. The MP L stood out to me and I went for it. Initially, I really loved the fast racquet head speed I could get and especially volleys at the net were much improved because of the weight and the larger head size. I was concerned about lack of power (mainly returning deep shots) and serves. I thought I could add some lead tape to just tweak it but then I started hitting everything long. So I took off the tape and just got to know the racquet. I figured out how to generate power on the serve and on deep rallies and now I love this racquet. Bottom line is that my game is much more consistent now and I am winning a pretty high percentage of sets I play with guys who are in the 4.0 category. Basically, everything I did well before has either stayed the same or gotten better. Power when I want it and lots of control and spin. Right now, I love this racquet. One thing I would say for those interested in it is to take the time to get to know it. It took me about a month to really understand how to play with it.

HEAD SPEED MPLAs an aging player, I wanted to try a lighter racquet, without a hugely oversize head (size). This lighter racquet improves my game but volleying needs good technique as there isn't the same mass to block the ball with. Serving and groundstrokes are fine and the racquet is definitely arm-friendly. More than happy with it.
