What's New

The Skechers GOrun Ride 10 is a lightweight and responsive daily trainer that promises to inject a lot of fun and performance into your runs. This is thanks to an extremely well balanced HYBER BURST midsole that continues to impress with its soft and bouncy ride. Like the midsole, the Ride 10's Goodyear Performance outsole remains untouched in version 10, promising to once again deliver reliable traction on road surfaces along with quality durability that can compete with the best.

What is new in version 10 is the shoe's Arch Fit insole system and podiatrist-designed shape, which work together to deliver improved foot and arch support in a more comfortable overall package. Even better, the engineered mesh material feels light and breathable, keeping the Ride 10's weight to a minimum while providing comfort that can go the distance in warmer running conditions.

The Bottom Line

From the outsole to the upper, the Skechers GOrun Ride 10 performed very well, delighting our testers out on the roads. Skechers' HYBER BURST midsole remains fantastic, and it delivered quality protection with a surprisingly responsive ride that transitioned smoothly from heel to toe. The Ride 10 is not as responsive as an uptempo trainer, but it certainly is not too far behind, and compared to other models in its category, it is a class above.

The Goodyear Performance outsole wasn't anything flashy, but it did its job run after run, providing sufficient traction on various road surfaces and offering the durability expected from a daily trainer. Unfortunately, the new upper and fit still need some work, and though this update is more comfortable than the Skechers Ride 9, the RW testers needed to make some adjustments to get an ideal lockdown in version 10. Furthermore, wide-footed runners may want to seek a different option if they do not want to risk potential fit issues.

At just under $180, the Skechers GOrun Ride 10 is competitively priced compared to other daily trainers, but given the shoe's awesome ride and overall performance, runners will get more than their money's worth with these shoes. An excellent option for a variety of experience levels, the Skechers GOrun Ride 10 is ready to tackle all of your daily training runs.

Our In-Depth Look

Upper

Jonathan: "Overall, the GoRun Ride 10 fits better than the outgoing 9. The new Arch Fit insole is thicker than the previous sock liner, providing noticeably better support underneath the arch and a more secure fit through the midfoot. My heels were not very secure, which I think was due to the thicker Arch Fit sock liner. After my first run, I used the runner's loop lacing technique to give me the heel hold I prefer."

Liz: "The upper offered enough adaptability to accommodate my wider feet, and out on the run, the upper felt very secure. I was a little nervous that fit would be an issue given what I had heard from other testers, but the Ride 10 worked very well for me, even with wider feet. I could easily lace up my shoes and run confidently, knowing that I would not have any pressure points or hot spots."

Midsole

Jonathan: "I do not know how Skechers did it, but the Ride 10 feels softer and bouncier than version 9. With its high energy return and overall springiness, the new Skechers Ride feels almost like a toned-down super shoe. The HYBER BURST midsole offers runners a high level of comfort thanks to its soft and protective cushioning. It compresses nicely with each step while remaining stable. There are shoes with higher stacked midsoles out there, but the GOrun Ride 10 has plenty of protection for multi-hour runs, and, of course, it feels good on 20-minute runs, as well."

Liz: "In my opinion, the Skechers Ride 10 has an excellent energy return for a daily trainer, and throughout testing, it helped propel me forward whenever I wanted to pick up the pace. The Ride is not an uptempo shoe, but I feel like it offers a higher level of responsiveness than other daily trainers.

The Skechers Ride 10 has an enjoyable level of softness, and the shoe feels comfortable without being mushy. The top layer of foam provides a slight sinking-in feeling while the HYBER BURST adds bouncy support below. The Ride 10 offers a comfortably protective ride that kept my legs feeling good throughout my run. I felt protected without feeling too disconnected from the ground."

Outsole

Jonathan: "I had no issues with the Ride's outsole. The fairly straightforward design provided sufficient traction on paved roads, as well as more gravelly segments. The flex grooves kept transitions smooth, and the Ride 10 never felt slappy. Further, after running 35-40 miles, the outsole has no signs of wear, and I have little doubt that the Skechers Ride 10 will last for a long time, especially if runners avoid rougher roads."

Liz: "The Skechers Ride 10's Goodyear rubber outsole performed well through testing, providing reliable traction on all my runs. The outsole is a little thicker on the Ride compared to some other Skechers shoes, and the Ride should be comparable to most daily trainers in regards to durability. That said, the HYPERBURST midsole foam is not completely covered, and I worry that debris will break it down over time."

Comparable Models

Jonathan: "Compared to other daily trainers on the market, the Skechers Ride 10 has one of the best underfoot experiences in the category. Though not as responsive, the Ride reminds me slightly of the Rebel v2, providing soft landings with a responsive return that makes runs fun. Shoes like the Brooks Ghost or Saucony Ride fit more comfortably, in my opinion, but the Ride's midsole performance was excellent."

Liz: "The Ride 10 is an excellent daily trainer, delivering protection comparable to a HOKA Clifton or Saucony Ride while providing an energy return that almost reminds me of an uptempo trainer. Aesthetically, the Ride 20 could be improved, and there are other trainers I prefer, but in terms of performance, the Ride 10 is tough to beat."

Individual Thoughts

JonathanOverall Score: 9/10

The Skechers GoRun Ride 10 competes directly with shoes like the top-selling Brooks Ghost, ASICS Cumulus, New Balance 880, and Saucony Ride. Regardless of price, the GoRun Ride 10 delivers the best ride among these shoes, in my opinion. Where I think the shoe falls short is fit. The other shoes have more comfortable fits that cater to a wider variety of foot shapes. It's not that the GoRun Ride 10 is a bad-fitting shoe, but it falls a bit short of the "nearly perfect fit" standard provided by some other daily trainers. That said, the GoRun Ride 10 fit my foot better than the 9, and the Arch Fit sock liner takes up some volume in the shoe, providing a comfortably secure and adaptable midfoot fit. The heel was a little loose on me, but I fixed the issue with a runner's loop.

In terms of ride, the Skecher GORrun Ride 10 felt sublime as I ran down many roads, and in my opinion, this shoe has the best underfoot feel in its category. I have become a huge fan of the high-rebound foams of super shoes and tempo shoes like the New Balance Rebel v2. While the GoRun Ride 10 cannot compete with the speed of super shoes, in terms of pure energy return, it has plenty of springiness to make running effortless at normal paces. The GoRun Ride 10 performs best for standard run paces and easier runs.

LizOverall Score: 8/10

While the Skechers GOrun Ride 10 seems to fly under most runners' radars, I think it is a great daily trainer that many are missing out on. They feel just as protective and comfortable as shoes like the Saucony Ride and HOKA Clifton, but they have a light and bouncy underfoot experience that makes them very enjoyable to run in.

I worry about outsole durability and the overall resilience of the midsole foam, but I do not think that the Ride 10 will deliver any less durability than any other daily trainer. My biggest complaint is that the Ride 10 does not have my favorite aesthetic, and I was not the biggest fan of the bubblegum pink colorway I received for testing.

That said, the fit was comfortable, supportive, and breathable. The midsole produced a very smooth and energetic ride, which made it easy to pick up the pace whenever I wanted to inject a little speed into my run. I feel like the Skechers Ride series continues to improve, and I think that many runners looking for a versatile daily trainer should consider adding the Ride 10 to their shoe rotation.
